An
annual well woman’s visit from a naturopathic
approach includes a preventative physical and gyn
exam with a pap. In addition the menstrual history
and present symptoms will be reviewed to distinguish
common complaints from normal healthy cycles. Symptoms
such as breast tenderness, PMS, heavy bleeding,
and moderate to severe cramping may be common but
not optimal and can be seen as your body communicating
its needs. Balance can be reestablished through
draining excess and building up deficiencies. Naturopathic
tools include cleansing, homeopathic drainage, hydrotherapy,
herbal formulas and nutritional therapy. For women
with severe cramping, endometriosis, heavy bleeding
and debilitating PMS, Dr. Bonnie will work with
a health care team which may include acupuncture,
abdominal massage, cranio-sacral, counseling, spiritual
guidance and/or constitutional homeopathy. |

Fatigue and insomnia are frequent concerns for women
and are often a result of living in our current
fast paced culture. Women in particular may find
that giving to family and career is not balanced
with receiving through personal time, exercise and
other nurturing activities. Imbalance over time
can lead to depletion which requires more than nurturing
to restore. Blood and digestive analysis may uncover
underlying disorders such as hypothyroid, hypochlohydria,
anemia, and malabsorption. |

Menopause
is often a concern for women. While it is a normal
transition in our lives, many woman need tonification
at that time to prevent suffering from flaring symptoms.
While hormone replacement therapy is commonly prescribed
and often effective, a more gentle approach with
cleansing, homeopathic drainage, lifestyle adjustments,
herbal formulas and nutritional therapy can provide
the balance the body is seeking at that time. |
